Plan Objectives

FIXME Briefly describe the objectives of the Functional Data Model Document, e. g. describing the design in the user’s terminology, providing a guide for a more technical design document, or ensuring that customers and systems engineers have a common understanding of the solution design. Explain how this document might evolve throughout the project lifecycle.

Reference

FIXME Identify sources of information used to develop this document. Include documents that define and trace system requirements, e. g. a Requirements Specification or a Requirements Traceability Matrix.

System Overview

FIXME Provide introduction to system overview.

Business Processes

FIXME Describe the business processes that will be modeled by the system. List any organizational functions that will be served by the system, e.g., payroll, human resources, production, etc.

System Users

FIXME Identify the potential system users. Specify the levels of expertise needed by the various user types, and indicate how each user type will interact with the system, e.g., data entry clerk, system administrator, etc.

Dependencies and Limitations

FIXME List dependencies or limitations that may affect the design of the software. Examples include budget and schedule constraints, staffing issues, availability of components, etc. Describe how each factor will affect the functional design.

Functional Data Model

FIXME Provide introduction to functional design.

Structure

FIXME Decompose the system into design entities or objects that will interact with and transform data to perform the required system objectives. Assign a unique name to each design entity, and group entities by type, e.g., class, object, procedure. Describe how each design entity satisfies system requirements. In user terminology, specify the inputs, outputs, and transformation rules for each design entity. Depict how design entities depend on one another.

Dimensions

FIXME List the dimensions used in the data model. The field “comment” is used for a short description of the dimension's purpose. The table should provide a quick overview for the reader. More information will be provided in the sub-sections.

Dimension 1

Textuelle Beschreibung der Dimension. Für jedes Attribut der Dimension sollten an dieser Stelle auch die Ziel- und Grenzwerte der zugehörigen Datenqualitätskennzahlen angegeben werden.

Hierarchy

An dieser Stelle werden die Hierarchien der Dimension beschrieben. Dabei ist es wichtig, den Leser auf Besonderheiten aufmerksam zu machen, wie beispielsweise Parent-Child-Beziehungen.

Data Marts

Data Mart 1

An dieser Stelle erfolgt die Darstellung eines einzelnen Hypercubes aus dem ADAPT-Modell sowie eine kurze textuelle Beschreibung dieser Darstellung. In der Beschreibung sollten im Zusammenhang mit der Datenqualität die Datenverantwortlichen für die im Data Mart enthaltenen Daten genannt werden. In der folgenden Tabelle erfolgt die Zuordnung zwischen den Kennzahlen des Data Marts und den in Kapitel 3.1 beschriebenen Dimensionen.

Key Performance Indicators

In der Kennzahlenübersicht werden alle Kennzahlen (Measures) des in diesem Kapitel beschriebenen Data Marts zusammengefasst und kurz beschrieben. Für jede Kennzahl wird in der Spalte <ID> eine Referenz auf den zugehörigen Eintrag im Kennzahlenkatalog, siehe BI-Spezifikationsbaustein Auswertungen und Berichte, angegeben.
